In the Catalan landscape of care for the elderly, a new benchmark has just been set with the inauguration of DomusVi Girona Ciutat, an innovative residence located in Girona.
With 74 single rooms and 23 double rooms spread over three floors, this facility aims to meet the growing demand for residential care in the region, while offering quality services and modern facilities.
With a staff of 90, this residence stands out for its commitment to non-drug therapies, offering therapeutic resources and multi-sensory cognitive stimulation sessions. Facilities include a vast central garden of over 1,900 square meters and covered terraces, creating an environment conducive to residents' well-being and quality of life
DomusVi Girona Ciutat director Adrián Pena expresses the facility's determination to become a benchmark in non-medication therapies, offering a diverse range of services from gym and therapy room to gardening and kitchen, to ensure maximum comfort for residents.
A commitment to sustainability is also at the heart of this new residence, with an A-rated building on the energy scale and BREEAM certification for its sustainable construction. Measures such as a Sate façade, a solar photovoltaic system and aerothermal heating are in place to minimize the facility's environmental footprint.
This inauguration is part of an ambitious plan by DomusVi to expand its presence in Catalonia, with the recent opening of a residence in Lleida and two more planned in the coming months. These initiatives will create almost 500 new places and more than 300 jobs in the region, helping to meet the growing demand for social and health care resulting from an ageing population.
Alberto Sarmini, Territorial Director of DomusVi in Catalonia, stresses the importance of these openings in guaranteeing the right of the elderly to choose care adapted to their needs and wishes. He also highlights the company's commitment to open-ended contracts, helping to create stable jobs in the region.
Faced with the growing demographic challenge of an ageing population and longer life expectancy, DomusVi is determined to meet this challenge in dialogue with the authorities and players in the sector to ensure the best possible care for the elderly. With over 30 years' experience, the company is positioned as a leader in the sector in Spain, with a presence in the country's 17 autonomous communities.
The inauguration of DomusVi Girona Ciutat marks an important milestone in Catalonia's elderly care landscape, offering innovative, sustainable and high-quality services to meet the growing needs of an ageing population.
